This Friday (August 18th) the Plymouth Devils aim to show visitors Kent who are Kings of the track as the sides face each other in a TRAVEL PLUS National league clash.
Kent are riding high at the moment and on good form having won away at Mildenhall last week and had five consecutive home wins to put themselves just outside the Play-off spots in 5th place two points behind Cradley but with three meetings in hand.
They therefore come to the St Boniface Arena looking for points to move them into the top four but the Devils will be looking to continue their home form that has seen them draw with Belle Vue and convincingly defeat Buxton.
Steve Boxall thankfully reported now ill effects from his crash guesting for Lakeside at Kent on Monday when he was hit from behind after his bike stopped. The crash caused damage the back end of the bike , wheel and other parts but despite being caught in the back he avoided injury.
Adam Roynon was also in action in that meeting guesting for Kent but had a torrid time with mechanical gremlins but was back in his workshop the following morning sorting these out.
The Devils travel to the Isle of Wight on Thursday night defending 100% home and away record against the Warriors having secured two victories on the Island in the National Trophy and KO Cup.
The Devils use Kean Dicken as a guest both Thursday and Friday as he stands in for William O’Keefe , who is away on holiday .
Team manager Laurence Rogers is looking for wins in both meetings , “ The lads have hit some good form and have already shown they can ride at the Isle of Wight so we are looking to maintain our unbeaten record there. Then we aim to see off the Kings on Friday and put some league points on the board.”
There is also a Southern Development League meeting on Friday as the Plymouth BUDE BREWERY Demons meet the league leaders Kent Kestrels . Henry Atkins captains the Demons alongside Kean Dicken , Saul Bulley and Jordan Bull.
