Summer Spectacular Off

Summer Spectacular Off

Unfortunately the weather has won the day forcing the postponement of the Summer Spectacular at Plymouth tonight (Saturday 29th July).  With rain predicted most of the day the club have made an early decision to cancel the event.

Co-Promoter Mark Phillips says they had little choice, “ We were looking at several forecasts and they unfortunately all said the same thing …rain, rain, rain and heavy too . We were really looking forward to staging this meeting giving the youngsters centre stage but have had to admit defeat. It would pointless getting them all to travel and then stand there in the rain with no chance of riding. As yet we have no new date for a re-staging.”

The next track action at the St Boniface Arena is on Friday August 4th (7.15 start) when the Plymouth Devils face the Buxton Hitmen in a return Travel Plus National League encounter with the sides meeting in Derbyshire on Sunday afternoon (July 30th at 3pm). For this away clash the Devils are without both Steve Boxall and Callum Walker who are competing in the British Masters Grass Track qualifier with Isle of Wight skipper James Cockle coming in as a guest and rider-replacement covering Walker’s rides.
