Devils V Warriors Preview

Plymouth Devils No. 1 Steve Boxall has given his side and supporters a massive boost by declaring himself fit to ride after extensive treatment at a football club with their physiotherapist .

The Devils top scorer will sit out Thursday for the National Trophy clash at Swindon with his back still sore from the treatment with Stoke’s Luke Priest stepping in for him.

He commented, “ the back is still sore but the work they did at the football club has been superb and I have more movement than I had last weekend . I know I am probably not 100% fit but I know I am fit enough to race and help my team get some league points.”

The Devils again include 16 year old Wulliam O’Keefe at reserve in place if Rob Parker, who suffered concussion in a crash at Lakeside Saturday. Henry Atkins sits out the clash with rider-replacement covering his rides .

The Isle of Wight Warriors include new signings Connor Coles and Kelsey Dugard as the Devils aim to maintain their 100% record against them having won four out four clashes with them home and away this season.

Team boss Laurence Rogers knows they will be a tougher proposition this time round, “ They have strengthened up with the inclusion of Connor Coles and Kelsey Dugard plus have Lewis Whitmore in as a guest at reserve. The news that Steve Boxall has declared himself fit is great news whilst the boys will cover for Henry’s absence with Benji, Richard, Callum and William eligible to take his rides. William did well when guesting for Stoke the other week but there will be no pressure on him at all . This should be a close encounter and I am sure the Devils fans will be in good voice to get behind their team.”
