Plymouth’s No. 8 rider SAUL BULLEY has stepped forward to join his team mate and best friend and “batman” HENRY ATKINS to do the bike cycle ride from Exeter to Plymouth to raise funds towards the Devils new air fence.
The 17 year old wants to do this alongside his good mate to help his new club who have to purchase a new safety air fence after the previous one was vandalised near the end of the 2016 season.
Already pledges have been made by fans from all over the country towards this and a Just Giving fund raising account has been set up to take donations. The pair will also be joined on the 46 mile ride by Henry’s father’s partner Lesley who has offered to accompany the duo .
Devils co-promoter Laurence Rogers is amazed at the gesture from the trio , “ This idea was only hatched a short time ago and is getting bigger and better every day. From just Henry doing it we have had Lesley offer to join him then Saul messaged me on Saturday to say count me in to cycle with Henry on the fund raiser. This is superb. We have definitely signed some great lads and what they are doing for the club is unbelievable and we appreciate it so much .”
Saul commented , “ I couldn’t let my mate do it himself could I ? The Devonshire Dumplings do things together!!”
