Following on from the addition of Eastbourne’s Connor Coles Plymouth have added two more names to their line-up for the Devon Best Pairs at the St Boniface Arena on Friday June 16th.
With one Devon born rider already announced his Eastbourne team mate and former Plymouth rider Matt Bates has agreed to join the line-up. Bates was a rider the Devils looked prior to the season to join them but the averages did not fit and when an opening came at his former club Eastbourne he took the chance.
Third rider to agree to ride is former Kings Lynn rider Shane Hazelden, who is returning from injury and looking for a team spot now he is fit again. The youngster made his debut in the National League for Plymouth co-promoter Laurence Rogers at Newport when he rode for the Hornets when 15.
Rogers commented, “ I have known Shane since he first started riding and when he did the under 15 Championship when I was involved with helping run them. He, along with Marc Owen , signed for me as 15 year olds at Newport. He suffered a leg injury at Kings Lynn last year but has been back on a bike practicing and doing well so this a chance for him to put himself in the shop window for clubs looking to make changes.”
“Matt Bates , like Connor Coles, took no time at all to agree to ride in the Pairs as he loves Plymouth and being a local wanted to do the meeting.”“ We have invites out with various riders and will be hopefully announcing more additions to the line-up shortly.”
