The Plymouth Devils have made a personnel change with Benji Compton taking over the role of team captain from Richard Andrews .
The decision by the promotion is to allow Andrews to concentrate on his racing whilst Compton is relishing taking on the role. He has been spending time working with the three younger riders in the team in Henry Atkins, Robert Parker and Callum Walker.
Co-Promoter Mark Phillips commented, “ This is no slight on Richie who has been geeing up the lads and trying to help them but we were concerned that rather than helping his own racing it wasn’t . He needs to be spending more time concentrating on that. This change will allow Richard to focus more on racing and use the ability he has to get his point scoring up to where we know he is capable of.”“Benji has been helping the young lads and advising them and we moved him in the pits to be beside Rob and Henry which has helped them a lot. He is up for doing the job and will support them all in any ways he can.”
