Devils Accepted Into 2017 National League

New Plymouth promoters Mark Phillips and Laurence Rogers were successful in their interviews at the BSPA offices in Rugby on Tuesday before the Devils were accepted into the 2017 National League.

It is now full steam ahead for the duo as they start to plan their side within the 39 point limit agreed at the AGM. They have made a start on this and will announce four signings along with the No. 8 at the Fans Forum at the Parkway Sports Club, Ensettle Lane, Plymouth on Thursday night ---with all five being present and unveiled to the fans.

The Devils have entered all three competitions taking part in the National Trophy and  KO Cup in addition to the league with plans to run 20 home meetings at the St Boniface Arena .

They will also launch their new website on Thursday as well as the new eye catching club logo with a body colour show that will be auctioned off at the forum to help raise funds towards the new air fence the club have to buy .

Mark Phillips is overjoyed at the club being saved, “ The acceptance into the league was the thing we were waiting for and now that has been achieved we can press on with our plans that include some improvements to the Arena and tidying the place up.  We are also launching a massive advertising and sponsorship campaign and have 1000 leaflets produced to hit the local businesses with.”

“We are giving the fans the chance to really get behind us by offering a Christmas and New Year special price on season tickets . Based on 20 meetings we will offer Adult tickets at £150, Child at £50 and Family ticket for 2 adults and 2 children for £400. After January 15th these will rise to £170, £70 and £450. We will have  forms at the forum and start to take orders …so fans wanting them can bring their cheque books or cash with them to take advantage of this special offer.”

Co-promoter Laurence Rogers was preparing for a busy few days sorting out the side, “ Now we are in the league I can get the team planning underway. I had targets in mind and thankfully we are able to announce four of the side at the forum on Thursday along with our number eight who will feature in our Junior side we plan to enter the new Southern Development League next season. I now am looking at the remaining three team spots and have several riders in mind I am  chasing and hope to have some more news on this soon.”
