After discussions and looking at diaries the intrepid trio of HENRY ATKINS, SAUL BULLEY and RICHARD ANDREWS will be doing their bike ride from Exeter to Plymouth on SATURDAY MARCH 4th.
Their efforts are being sponsored in various ways with sponsor forms circulated by all the riders along with a Go Fund Me …. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/plymouth-devils
In addition Henry Atkins, head boy at his school, has had permission from them to involve all the pupils who can back him .
The Devils will also have a stall at the Celebration of Speedway at Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire , where the National Speedway Museum is housed, on Sunday February 26th. Several riders will be there with their bikes and equipment handing out leaflets advertising the Plymouth Devils. Fans from all over the UK congregate for this event and buckets will be on the stall for any supporters to donate towards the new air fence.
Devils co-promoter Laurence Rogers is looking forward to the lad’s bike ride, “ The efforts of the lads is much appreciated by Mark and I . It has been a big outlay replacing the old air fence that was vandalised last year on top of buying the club and equipment . The fund raising idea was Henry’s and his two fellow Devonians stepped up and offered to join him. I don’t envy them cycling all that way but the boys are up for it . I am sure fans will cheer them on and meet them as they finish their ride at the St Boniface Arena some time on the Saturday afternoon. ““A big thank you to everyone who has pledged sponsorship to the lads or donated via the Go Fund Me . Anyone who hasn’t and wants to can still support them or drop their contributions in the buckets we will have en-route and at the stadium.”
