Joining team mates and fellow Devonians Henry Atkins and Saul Bulley on the fund raising bike ride from Exeter to Plymouth will be Richard Andrews. The trio are doing the ride to raise funds for the new Plymouth safety air fence the club have had to buy for the 2017 season.
Andrews has got straight into the fund raising and has over £600 pledged within one day of offering his services to his team mates. He commented, “ The club have some big outlay and we all want to do our bit to support them. What Henry has suggested and Saul has joined in with is brilliant and there is a Go Fund Me set up that fans all over the UK have been pledging money to . it can be found at : https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/plymouth-devils”
“I have hit some people and businesses I know and with a day I have already got over £600 pledged and will be pushing this right up to the bike ride. We are all having these sponsor forms , even the lads not actually doing the ride, and getting backing. “
“We will have the sponsor forms at the stadium on Saturday (January 14th) when a working party are at the St Boniface Arena doing a range of jobs getting it all ready for the new season. So any fans who want to pop along and help can sign up to back the bike ride as well. “Co-Promoter Laurence Rogers is amazed at the rider’s commitment to the club, “ These lads are unbelievable. They are doing so much to help us and this fund raising is much appreciated. The new air fence is not cheap but every penny raised is important so thanks to the lads and everyone who has sponsored them . “
