Colin Hill Memorial LIne Up Complete
Following the announcement of the first six riders for the Colin Hill Memorial Meeting at Plymouth on Friday night (13th) the full field to contest the event is now ready for release.
Already announced are Ashley Morris, Ben Hopwood, Ben Morley, Ben Wilson, Connor Coles and Matt Bates.
Added to the 12 man line up are home favourites HENRY ATKINS and RICHARD ANDREWS . Both were in good form last week in the Trophy Final with 16 year old Atkins dropping just one point in six rides as he scorched to a 17 point haul out of 18. Andrews has hit some consistent form in recent weeks and will be out to do well in this meeting.
Jamie Halder , who was making a great impression in his few meetings in Devils colours before he was unfairly given an average that stopped him from taking guest bookings , is looking to get amongst the points . The 18 year old is putting himself in the shop window for the 2018 season for sure!
Kent’s recent signing Dan Greenwood, the former Cradley and Coventry rider , is another capable of challenging for the first spot . His former Coventry team mate Ryan Terry-Daley is out to end his season in style and push for a place in the final along with his Potters team mate David Wallinger , who was on good form guesting for a Coventry Select side at Birmingham on Wednesday.
Co-Promoter Laurence Rogers is pleased with the final line-up , “ We were planning on running the traditional 20 heat 16 man formula but due to unavailability and withdrawals from the line-up planned we have elected to go with a 12 man field. This gives 12 main heats , two semi-finals and a Grand Final for the Colin Hill Memorial to honour and remember the former Exeter promoter, who has the back straight stand at the St Boniface Arena named after him. The top four in the meeting will then contest a one-off race to remember former Exeter rider Tony Sanford who lost his life in a track crash at the County Ground Exeter in 1981.”
“It is a good field we have assembled and naturally home supporters will be hoping their duo of Henry Atkins and Richard Andrews will be challenging at the end of the night. We have had special body colours made for the meeting which the riders will sign and they will be auctioned off in the bar at the end of the meeting …so fans can bring their piggy banks with them to bid for these one off souvenirs.”
